Talent Show Prizes
The talent show will be judged by the audience
1st place:
- Host your own 2-hour event at Playground Productions Studio. Cash bar on site, audio engineer included. The winner will get 80 percent from ticket sales.
2nd place:
- For music acts: Record one song and get it mixed and mastered at Playground Productions Studios
- For all other acts: 5-minute video production, recorded and edited by Playground Production Studios
3rd place:
- Get a 2-hour rehearsal at Playground Productions Studio, room of your choice.
All prizes are subject to studio’s availability and must be redeemed in 2025.
Talent Contest Rules
Any violation of any contest rules will result in immediate dismissal and disqualification.
- Performances must be family-friendly; absolutely no profanity, insensitive subject matter, explicit material/lyrics, nudity, hate speech, political demonstrations (including costumes and attire).
- No mention of violence, drugs, or abusive material (including costumes and attire).
- Costumes/attire must be appropriate for all age groups as this is a family-friendly community event.
GENERAL RULES
- All performance arts/styles are welcome: live music, comedy, dance, poetry readings, theater, magicians, skits, etc.
- Open to ages 18 and up.
- 5 minute time limit per act. Set will be stopped if it goes over 5 minutes.
- Maximum number of participants in an act is 8 people.
- Live music acts must play original music, no covers.
- Acts may need to submit lyrics/scripts in advance for review.
- All acts must be present for judging and to be eligible to win a prize.
Backing Tracks/Backline Equipment
- Acts must supply their own backing track from an audio player or phone. Acts also must supply an adaptor for device.
- Backline will be included: 5-pc drum kit, guitar amp, and bass amp. Drummer supplies own cymbals and are welcome to provide their own snare and/or kick pedal.
- Entrants may only participate in one act.
SAFETY RULES
- Dangerous stunts are not allowed.
- Acts may not include pyrotechnics, fire, or live animals.
- Acts may not include any messy substances such as foods, liquids, silly string, glitter, confetti, etc.
- Stage will be 12×16 with a canopy, so please keep in mind ceiling height for your performance.
