Playground Productions Studio Offers Djembe Drum Repair & Maintenance
We offer djembe repair and maintenance, as well as other animal skin drums. We offer a Basic Repair Package and a Restore Package.
Please note that an appointment is required for drop off and pickup of your drum.
Djembe Repair Packages
Restore Package, Starts at $175
The Restore Package is recommended for drums that need a complete overhaul and are generally not playable.
- Professional reheading with new rope
- Includes new drum head & new rope
- Shell care and inspection
- Repair of minor shell cracks and splits
- Oiling of shell
- Tuning
- Optional: Rings replacement
- $30 for all three rings or $10 per ring
Basic Package, Starts at $50
The Basic Package is recommended for drums that are in overall good condition, but just need tuning up that may have some minor cosmetic flaws.

Information about the Repair Process
Please contact us if you have a drum that needs repaired. You will be required to set-up an appointment to drop the drum off and have it assessed for what repairs or package is needed.
Take Photos of Damages
Text or email photos of any damage. Please send us close up photos of the damaged head, shell, inside the drum, and any other cracks so we can be prepared for the assessment. Please text to 317-678-7529 or email to [email protected].

Repair Time
Restore Package
Most Restore Packages have a 1-2 week turnaround, unless additional parts need to be ordered or unexpected circumstances cause a longer delay. Please note repairs cannot be done same day. When drum is complete, we will contact you and coordinate a pickup time.
Appointments required for both drop-off and pickup.
Basic Package
Most Basic Packages can be done same day or if not same day, in 1-2 days. Should your drum need to stay for repairs, we will contact you and coordinate a pickup time.
